The pests and diseases encountered in rice cultivation in Vietnam are mainly divided into common pests, bacterial diseases, viral diseases, fungal diseases and rice species transmission diseases.

(1) There are 12 common pests of rice in Vietnam

Grey, mosquitoes (Pachydiplosis oryzae) (Wood-Mason), rice iron beetles (Dicladispa armigera). (Olivier), Oxya Chinensis, Leptocorisa acuta, Nezara viridula (Linnaeus) and Scotinophara lurida (Burmeister).

(2) There are 1 common bacterial diseases in rice in Vietnam

White-leafed bacteria, pathogens are rice-yellow monocytobacteria (Xanthomonas campestris pv. Oryzae (Ishiyama).

(3) There are 4 common viral diseases in rice in Vietnam Rice yellow leaf virus (RTYV, Rice transitory yellowing virus), rice grass dwarf virus (RGSV, Rice grassy stunnt virus), rice tooth leaf dwarf virus (RRSV, Rice ragged stunt virus), Southern Water Rice black bar dwarf virus (SRBSDV, Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus).

(4) There are 3 common fungal diseases in rice in Vietnam

Rice plague, the bacteria are Pyricularia oryzae Cavara, the disease of standing dead, the pathogen is standing dead silk core Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn, rice curly bacteria (Ustilaginoidea virens (Cooke) Takaheshi.

(5)There are three common rice seed borne diseases in Vietnam

It is a kind of rice bakanae, Fusarium moniliforme, Fusarium moniliforme, Fusarium moniliforme, sarocladium onyzae, and Bipolaris oryzae. The main diseases in Vietnam are seedling Damping off, Acacia mangium powdery mildew, pine needle blight, pine seedling leaf blight and Eucalyptus purple spot.

The main forest diseases and insect pests in Vietnam are bamboo witches' broom, Eucalyptus branch blight, pine needle drop, Osmanthus fragrans leaf blight, coal pollution, teak rust and pine wood nematode disease of Pinus kesiya.
