Seed production of main crops in Vietnam. Vietnam is a traditional agricultural country, mainly planting rice, corn, sorghum, beans, cassava and other food crops. In 2013, the seed yield of Vietnam's main crops was 1.61 million tons. Among them, rice was the main food crop, with a yield of 1.32 million tons, accounting for 82%. Rice was mainly distributed in the Red River Delta, Mekong River Delta and coastal plain areas. 2012, the seed production area of hybrid rice was about 1700 hectares. In some provinces, the seed production area is relatively stable, such as about 200 hectares in Guangnan Province, 180 hectares in Henan Province, 150 hectares in Nanding Province, and 130 hectares in Haiphong city; in other provinces, the area increases rapidly, such as about 360 hectares in Qinghua Province, 95 hectares in duole Province, 80 hectares in Pingding province and 55 hectares in Laojie province. In Haiphong city and duole Province, the yield of hybrid rice reached 2.5 T / ha. In Laojie, Guangnan and Qinghua provinces, the yield was 3.3-4 T / ha, but in some large-scale seed production provinces, the yield level was low, such as 1.6 T / HA in Henan Province and 2.2 T / HA in Nanding Province.

The company has strong scientific research ability and has bred and introduced varieties with short growth period and high quality. Among the eight national approved rice varieties, duu527, cnr36 and Taichuan 111 are patent varieties exported by Sichuan Chuannong high-tech seed industry. Since 2001, the company has established a strategic cooperative relationship with Chuannong hi tech, and regards China as the most important strategic cooperation country. In 2002, the company became a member of the Asia Pacific Seed Association (APSA) and is currently the vice president of Vietnam Seed Trade Association.

Central seed stock company: the central seed company was established in 1968, formerly directly under the Ministry of agriculture of Vietnam. It was renamed as central seed company in 1993 and changed to central seed stock company in November 2003. At present, it has 11 branches and 1 research station. The annual sales of seeds are 20000 tons, including more than 3000 tons of hybrid rice and corn. The company is committed to the research of high yield, high quality, high lodging resistance new varieties to meet the growing market demand, professional research, production team and modern seed processing equipment. The company has a good reputation in the industry, is a leading enterprise and listed company in Vietnam seed industry, is also one of the largest import and export seed enterprises in seed industry, and is a member of Asia Pacific Seed Association.

Nanfang Seed Co., Ltd.: Nanfang Seed Co., Ltd. was established in 1976, renamed as Nanfang seed company in 1993, and restructured into Nanfang Seed Co., Ltd. in March 2002, it is the first company in Vietnam seed industry to realize shareholding, and the state holds 20%. In March 2005, it was officially listed on the Ho Chi Minh stock exchange. It was the first seed enterprise in Vietnam to be listed on the stock exchange The president unit of the trade association. The company's registered capital is 150 billion Dong (about 50 million yuan), which is the main unit for Vietnam to study three line hybrid rice. The hybrid rice seed production level is high, and the annual production of conventional rice seeds is 300 tons.
